Landslide
Landslide was built off of a photo of my mother and myself in the kitchen of my childhood home. Throughout the process of the painting, I was heavily considering a physical representation of ruminating on old memories, and the confrontation of how it would feel to have those memories acknowledge the viewer. As the first big personal project following my graduation from university, I felt intense growing pains and grief within knowing that life had to keep moving forward further from my childhood. This piece is one of many dedicated to my mother, because she’s getting older and I’m getting older too.
